I have been thinking about getting it for over a year now. Well...actually longer, since I always wanted it for my daughter.

Anyway....I am really tempted to order it. But...my mother has several of these desks, in real life child size.....and very old. So I am wondering if I should just take one of those, and just sit some of my dolls around it? I have always wanted to do something with those desks, as well.

When my mother's church remodeled, they were going to throw these desks away! So she took them. She has this old shed in her yard that is at least 100 years old. ( Her house is over 100-yrs. old) Anyway, she keeps them, and other antiques that she's not using, in there. so I can have one anytime I want one.

Decisions...Decisions....

Or you could get one of Samantha's and display it on top of a real one, wouldn't that look darling? (can you say that "look darling"?)
I have a human-size roll-top desk like Kit's and some day I plan to have her by her desk on top of mine.

There are so many of Samantha's desks around (and many imitations that look identical) that I personally wouldn't order it new from AG. I got mine off of eBay, in perfect condition for $22 (plus shipping).

I do like your idea of displaying dolls on the real one, though!

I got a knock off one from e-Bay but I wasn't happy with it because it was about an inch or two smaller. Afterwards, I got an AG one off of E-Bay in perfect condition for about $35 with shipping. It was a much better size and had prettier wood.

Get Sam's it so beutiful! Then you'll have a real one and an AG one, how perfect. Did you know that during the victorian era, sales reps would go to homes with little doll sized appliances and furniture to show the owners what they are selling, it would be too hard to cary around real ones! So if a family bought, lets say a stove, then the sales rep would give them the little version if they wanted, which then usually went to the little girls, thus starting doll accessories! Isn't that cool!
